Funny, since my skin was already so irritated that probably nothing was going to make it worse! But, honestly, i used it and it dried that pesky poison ivy right up! I like your sock idea--that would've been great for me to use at night when I scratched like crazy in my sleep! But my brother is very allergic and all he has to do is walk outside while it is pollenating and he's in the dr's office for a shot. When he gets it, it's everywhere, his mouth, eyes, nose, ears, everywhere. Hopefully you heal up soon and can practice for your dance off. ; ) Have a great week.
