I have been asked to take the two posts down. I was asked to do this because we had signed an agreement to work through a different channel with the Suarez issue (part of that being we agreed not to go ‘public’ with the information) Whether or not that was a wise or proper thing for us to do is currently being debated.  But as it stands, since we did sign an agreement that outlined certain steps, we will honor it and stay silent regarding exposing things publicly for now.

However, I will say this. Geoff and I 100% stand behind  those who have been hurt and/or victimized.  Our eyes have been even more opened to the necessity of speaking out and the huge problem that currently exists in the church (at large) that hides divisiveness and the danger of silencing victims who speak up.  We’ve gotten such a huge response from people who have been suffering in the same, or similar, situation. Our hearts grieve over that.

  1. My blog is called Luminous for several reasons, but partly because we are a victim family stepping into the light, no longer being silenced by the child molester who did whatever he could to get out of what he did to my family member.

I am deeply disturbed by this. I would recommend contacting your own attorney – I am fairly certain that for a predator family to blackmail a signed agreement like this from their victims who are desperate, emotional, and longing to have restoration with their victimizers… protecting a child molester from consequences, is illegal. Maybe I am wrong. But that’s why your own attorney needs to be contacted – immediately – please!!
This is not just about one child, but many – in the past and in the future. Only seeking legal action will stop the monster’s who prey on children – and not because they want to stop, but because only the possibility of them being locked away will stop them.
This relative needs to be put on a sex offender list to protect OTHER children.

  2. I agree with Violet. If this predator is still molesting children under the “age of consent”, or if he/she is still punishable under the statutes of limitations in their state, they should be reported to the authorities.
Romans 13:3-4 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.
