I'm Too Lazy to Think Uppa Title

I woke up this morning and it was downright chilly.  I almost leapt for joy.  Fall is, by far, the best season ever created.  It makes me giddy just thinking about it.  It’s just SO CLOSE!

And, speaking of Fall, that’s when things start getting busy – at least it always does for us. And our excellent friends planned a party on the same day as the barn dance.  That’s gonna be one busy day because there’s no way we could miss either.  And still speaking of the barn dance…are you going to make it this year?  It’d be fun to see all my friends in one place.  My family is totally looking forward to it.  Luckily the first party is during the morning and early afternoon so we’ll be able to shoot up to Abingdon, VA directly after.  If you haven’t signed up for the dance, you ought to do that right quick (I don’t know how many people the facility will hold so I reckon it’d be fittin’ to get your name in early).  Our lovely and gracious barn dance / fund raiser hostess cupcake will keep regular updates on her blog, so keep an eye on that.  The big day is Oct 27.

Remember in highschool how everybody used to make fun of band kids and chess club kids?  My husband was a band kid.  He played the tuba.  No joke.  Actually, he calls it a “baritone”, but I think that’s just a fancy name for tuba.  I know a tuba when I see one.  Where was I? oh yes, nerdy highschool activities…  I just signed all my kids up for chess club and they are ecstatic.  It meets every other Tuesday night.  And this is another reason why I’m glad that we homeschool.  They have no idea that chess has a nerdy connotation.  Well, Ryann knows now (get off the computer, Ryann). But I don’t think they’d care anyhow.  I think they glory in any and all things Nerdish. Especially Coie.  I wonder if that’s just an unavoidable byproduct of homeschooling.  They embrace their inner dork.  Either that or it’s simply genetic.

Ok, I gotta go.  My friend is coming over and she’s even bringing cupcakes.  oh, and also, don’t think I am ignoring you if you’ve emailed me within the last day or two.  Once again my email is on the fritz.  Gadzooks, this is like the third time it’s gone down in the last two months.

Happy Whatever-It-Is Day

Am I the only one in America who cannot keep Labor Day and Memorial Day straight?  I’ve never been able to get it right.  I sent an email to a friend whom I have been trying to trick into thinking I was relatively normal and somewhat clue-ful.  She was nice enough to pretend that this was indeeed Memorial Day weekend and was happy that Geoff had the day off.  Lorsy me.  That’s what I get for trying to fool people.  Some things you just can’t hide and some things just aint never gonna get fixed no matter how hard you try.  You can fix dumb, and you can even fix ugly, but you can’t fix twit.

In other news, I have this scab on my thumb, right?  It just won’t heal.  It always starts to heal but then it just tuckers out and gives up.  So anyways, over the last few days it’s finally been making some progress, but I was sitting in church today next to Geoff the Great, and James was wedged in between us, when all of a sudden, quick as lightning, the little monster ripped my scab clean off and popped it right into his mouth (GROSS!).  And when I say ‘little monster’ — just in case any of you were wondering — I am referencing James, not Geoff.  I don’t think Geoff would do that.  But anyways, my whole point is that right when I thought the thing was going to heal I end up back to square one. Ah, I fear that’s the story of my life.  I live at square one.

Ok, i beter go.  I’m supposed to be cleaning my house right now. Oh! but before I go, guess what?  My husband has lost like 15 pounds (and counting) doing Jessi’s dumb diet.  And it’s amazing the difference that 15 pounds can make.  Even Coie was like, "wow dad, where’d you go?"

Have a great Memorial Day Weekend. snort.
