Jeneric Jeneralities ~ by JenIG

Anybody ever had a kidney stone?  Today I had three.  NOT very fun.  Gena is pretending to be offended because I named them after her.  The ingrate.  At any rate I'm feeling much better now and I am praising God for the ability he gave man to produce pain killer.  Plus, it got me out of having to go over and help Gena pack up her house.  The move to TN is just in 4 days.  Yippeeee!  I don't mean Yippeeee that Gena is moving, I mean Yippeeeee that me and Geoff are moving, too.  Pray for us if you think of it.  We're hoping to make it out there by Sept 1.  And if you live in or around Knoxville TN let us know! we've already made some GREAT friends, like Classical Kris You Tennesseeians are just as sweet as peach pie.  I reckon we're gonna like it mighty fine <brushing up on my Southern lingo>

    OH MY!!

You are in our prayers. My husband suffers with kidney stones from time to time. The are horrid. The first one I ever saw that he passed looked like a bramble! It had points all over it! OUCH. I hope your ordeal will be soon gone.

    You poor thing!

When I first graduated from nursing school I worked in nephrology. I saw many patients with kidney stones and they were in considerable pain. Praying that you never experience kidney stones again!

    Yikes!

So what do you think is worse– kidney stones or childbirth? (painwise, b/c one obviously has better results than the other– and don't make me tell you which result is better! LOL) ~Marsha

Sorry about the kidney stones! My hubby has some, has yet to pass them, though.

I lived in the Knoxville area for a while and have relatives up there- I'm sure you will love it! It is SO gorgeous up there (I say "up there" because I'm in Florida). The people up there are just so nice. Lots of great places to go and explore. Hey, I wanna go, too!

Oh bless your heart! I had a kidney stone last March. It was truly horrible. Before we learned it was a kidney stone, I told DH I hadn't felt such pain since labor and delivery. I'd always heard the two experiences compared, and I feel its a fair comparison. I'm glad you are feeling better!

You are one sassy sister! You remind me so much of my sister Cindy…she would name gallstones after…..no….she is not even that sassy!

    You take the cake, girl!

And this is how you tell me you are not moving to Wisconsin. I didn't think you could resist my invitation a few weeks back.

You sure you don't want some cheese curds and brats?

Ya know Knoxville is not too far from here…..

I just may gather up some cheese heads and come visit you, ya hey der.

    Get well soon!

    Love,

    Donna

Boy, do I feel like a doofus

I just got gena's email that said you were in the hospital, so I sent out a prayer request and ALMOST wrote in there "if anyone has any more info, Feel Free to Pass it On…." but I decided to be nice.

So then, I check your blog, which by the way is so purdy—although I already had a sneak peek before a certain kidney stone naming blogger saw it…..OH, now what was I talking about? Um, oh yeah. I look at your blog, and there it is, plastered all over the blogosphere by YOU. That is the LAST time I try to protect your modest image. Because, dear Jen, now I know that theory is completely busted.

Naming stones. Sheesh. Next thing you know, there will be a column about this……..

(Prayers and wishes for a triple dose of Motrin to you, love Nancy)

    That was low

To think that you'd lower yourself to having kidney stones just to get out of helping your sister pack her house. I'm shocked and astounded. I bet she was mad. Do you have a doctor's note to prove that you weren't just playing hookie? *Just kidding* I guess the good part of it is that you didn't have the kidney stones while trying to drive/move across country. Take care of yourself and use this to get out of as much work as possible! : )

    I think you're just mad …

You're mad because I have a surprise planned for Gena & Co. when they arrive next week and you won't be here to see it …. you played hookie on purpose, didn't you?

I've heard having ONE kidney stone is bad, but THREE at one time?? What is it with you and multiples of things? First, SIX children and then THREE kidney stones. Are you an overachiever?

LOL! (just joking ….) … hope I gave you a chuckle today 🙂

    Tennessee

I am so sorry you had to go through that pain. I've never had kidney stones but I hear they are horrible. I moved from California to Tennessee when I was in high school. You'll have to learn a whole new language! I had a friend ask me one day if my mom could carry us to school. He meant "drive" us to school but I pictured my mom with a teenager in each arm. LOL! I hope you are feeling better now. Happy packing!

    Sweet Sisterhood

Jen, I just love hearing the stories about you and Gena and your interraction with one another. My sister and I are not close at all (both in proximity and in personality) so I think it is so beautiful seeing you and Gena get along so well and have fun together, even in the midst of kidney stones, and relocations. You gals are a hoot! 😉 I pray that the kidney stones pass quickly and you get some good rest. Blessings <>< Kelly

    Disco Queen

OK – if you are moving to TN you'd better keep your disco-loving heart to yourself! And learn to drink your tea sweet! LOL! OK- for the rest of my secret . . . one of my favorite-ever songs is Dancing Queen by you know who!!!!

I lived outside of Knoxville once, place was called Strawberry Plains. Not even a gas station back then now it is a regular Gas Haven off the interstate. sigh.

I'm jealous – I have deep TN roots – my daddy was from Chatanooga and I love it there! Hope you are building a guest room!

Glad to read that you can find some humor and make fun with a not so fun incident (…ouch!….). Seriously, I hope you are feeling better.

CONGRATULATIONS on moving SOUTH – you'll love it! Now is the time to begin your "ennunciation" pratices………..now long, drawn I's (like eyezzzz)……I am only happy to volunteer for any "queries" you need to submit on southern living and culture ~ albeit, I AM in Georgia! p.s. Beware of the kudzu………

    You take care of you!

Feel Better, and a thank you

YOU like disco music??? Wow… God sent me a sister !!! 🙂 It is sad to say, but my little one can sing verses of "Turn the Beat Around" and loves the Bee Gees.

So sorry you are going through the kidney stones… they are soooo painful. I put the pain up there with childbirth, except you get no prize at the end . I am praying you feel better ssooo soon.

Bless you for the sweet encouragement.. God is good, but I am still scared! We should know later today after the appt.

God bless you and your family tenderly, and thanks again for your Christian love!

Where around Knoxville are you moving? That was one of the places that came up on my findyourspot.com Actually it was Maryville, which they say is 15 min. from Knoxville.

    Me, too!

I get a kidney stone every time I have a baby (four times), only they come when I'm 7-9months pregnant and I then go into preterm labor and it's all a big raucous. They are SO MUCH WORSE than labor!! I should name mine after each child who has caused me such pain. You have a great idea there.
