A Diaper-Less Future

Yep, King James is moving up into the
big new world of Underoos. I suppose the fear that comes from letting
his chubby little diaper-less bumsy sit on the couch, or my ugly green
carpet, or my big fat cozy chair cannot be avoided in the potty
training process.  Yet you'll be cheered to know that I haven't
sat, or stepped in, one soggy puddle all day.

And thanks to Angie
and her very clever husband who is a physical therapist, I no longer
feel like I'm going to die from shoulder/back pain.  Ice is doing
the trick.  Lastly, I want say a big thanks to Spunky for all she has done in the HSB community and the important role she headed up here.  She is a neat lady and I wish her well in all her future endeavors.

Have a splendid Friday.  I am going to go lay on the couch and watch The Princess Bride with the fam.

    Welcome to Potty Training

How fun, toilet training is such an adventure! We are in the ‘process’ of training boy #3. He is out of diapers during the day, with some accidents…but we are making progress. Good Luck to you and your ugly carpet!

    Have a great weekend!

One of these days I suppose we should train my little sister, Tabithah… I think we’re all avoiding it though, because once she’s trained it will be the first time in nearly twenty-three years that we haven’t had ANYONE in diapers (yup, I’m from one of those really large families… twelve kids). I just wanted to stop by and let you know how much I enjoy reading your blog. It’s quirky. I like :).

    Blessings,

    Congratulations!

“Unless I’m wrong, and I’m never wrong” (to quote Prince Humperdinck) you shall very much enjoy your diaperless future. Enjoy your weekend too and watching such a classic movie with your family! You know you’ve watched it too many times though when your 3-year old says to you “Am I going MAD, or did the word “think” escape your lips?” (True story, my niece said it to my sister!)

    Potty training,etc.

It’s bittersweet isn’t, when the baby grows up into (in our house) “big girl panties. ”

I can handle a lot of things, however, I cannot handle cleaning up puddles all day. Therefore, we were totally psychologically abusive in our family, and the diapers came off when I could say, “Go use the potty”, and they did. I guess the one who took the longest was Daniella, who was pushing four (GASP!), but her whole world got turned upside down when she was one, so she had a lot of adjustments. So, we didn’t get too panicked. (Is that spelled right? I retyped it 5 different ways.)

So glad you’re getting some relief with your back! Take it easy this weekend, and see you at the teens’ & moms’ night next week.

    Glad you’re feeling better Jen!

And congrats to your big little guy for doing so well today! I am proud to say that I have not potty-trained a single one of my boys.

Let’s see…my mom trained Dash and dh trained Tank… So I think I’m officially unskilled in this area and would hate to mess it up with Dozer, so dh will take care of him as well. 🙂 Aren’t I the lucky ducky this time???

    Love,

    Marshie

PS I love The Princess Bride, although it totally kills me to watch her roll down that hill after him when he says “As…..youuuuuu…..wwwiiiiiisssssssshhhhhhhh!!!” Seriously, the “ugh” “ah!” “uh!” just sounds really bug me. But other than that, have fun!

    ROUS’s? I don’t believe they exist!

Man, oh man, I could just go on and on and on…I LOVE that movie!

    My grandson is potty training

The day he brought all his “binkies” to his mama and said “fro dem away, Mom,” she also pressed the potty thing a bit more. He seemed ready. It’s been tough … Last summer a move, then a new baby, then a very sick new baby — potty training Mikey was not a priority. Seemed like a good time for another try, so she put undies on him … and within 20 min. he had come down with diarrhea! “I sowwy Mom! I twy not to do dat Mom!” “Oh, Mikey! It’s OK! It’s not your fault!” Great timing huh?

Ah, well — this too shall pass (no pun intended).

Hey, I was the one who suggested ice for the shoulder/neck pain – do I get honorable mention even though I’m not a physical therapist? I might as well be – I’ve been to so many of them. Anyway, I’m glad you’re feeling better. My 19 yo had a bad muscle spasm in her neck last week and went to play kickball with a bunch of friends. She was playing third base and was involved in a rather violent collision with a man twice her size, and *bam*! the spasm was GONE! Maybe as a last resort it would be worth a try. . . Karen

I miss Paul. I’m lonely. My life is not complete without him. I’m so lonely. Can I come over? Did you cook anything good? Is the rowboat sound? I’m lonely times ten.

About your entry in chickadee's contest

Please clarify …are you getting up from the couch to get bon bons or are you asking your children to hand them to you? This will affect whether this is an official exercise photo.
