well they weren't exactly hunting, but
whenever I read that phrase in books it always sounds so regal.
All my men (except King James) went camping over the weekend.
They were so excited. I do not get that excited about camping trips. I still think that camping should be illegal.
Gena kept Ryann and Emmiko over night, so all I had at home was me and Coie
and theLittle Shaggy-Headed Curtain Climber. Last night Coie took
us out to see a movie. I don't think the guy behind the register
had ever heard “Two adult tickets for Ice Age, please”. I can't
remember the last time me and Coie went on a date. It was fun. I
really like the squirrel in Ice Age. That squirrel (or whatever
it is) is so persistent and focused and dedicated
in pursuing his acorn. He's obsessed. Even when things go so
crazily awry for him, he does not give up his pursuit. I came home from
that movie wishing I was more like that crazy squirrel. I want to
pursue God like that.
Have a super weekend!

Good for you to send the *men* camping! Camping was lots more fun for me before the third or fourth baby–too much food, water, clothes, comfort articles, et cetera to think about packing. Plus taking care of everyone’s needs without running water or any major appliance. I’m not persistant enough, focused enough, or dedicated enough to enjoy camping.
I haven’t seen the new Ice Age, but Scrat is amusing. I’m glad you got to spend some time with Coie (and King James).

What?! You had time for a movie? Now I am definitely jealous. I love spending one-on-one time with my kiddos. Weird how they are ALWAYS sweet and good and obedient and pleasant and fun when they are by themselves.
Never made it to OKC since the flights got really full. So my little sis from NYC, Dozer and I are going to try to fly to Tulsa tomorrow and drive to OKC. I can’t wait to see my little niece!
Hope you have a great Sunday!!!

Ever since living 8 days in AUGUST in FLORIDA without electricity and warm water ( got hit hard by Hurricane Charly) – I don’t ever want to go camping again unless it’s in an RV. LOL
Can’t wait till this weekend!
My dd’s saw Ice Age with a friend. We are waiting for it to come to the 50 cent movie theater. They want me to see it REALLY bad.

Well now you know someone
I have read them. So now you know someone in the world that has read the Chris Walley series. What is your favorite part? Sounds like an entry for my contest! The third one is coming out in September. I will have to read them again before it comes out.

Camping's not that bad
It all depends on how you do it. Now no water or electricity and I don’t like camping either. However, a pop-up helps immensely. Hopefully, I will still think the same thing after our upcoming 2 week camping trip to CO!
Look forward to meeting you at FPEA this next weekend!

Yeah, we just spent Friday night into Saturday camping in the rain with the scouts. This was the big, long-anticipated Boy Scout/Webelos overnighter, and we had about 15 boys, mostly 10 and 11, running around in the dark swinging sharp sticks at each other. Best part of camping is being away from the moms jabbering in our ears, and where we can all belch at will and eat stuff that falls on the ground and all the other things that guys do when the females aren’t looking. Men could live their whole lives out of a tent. The only reason men have made these big shiney cities with all these conveniences and creature comforts is so they wouldn’t have to listen to their women whine so much about being cold and wet in a tent, with bugs crawling all over everything. And women need stuff like carpeting and drapes and indoor plumbing and all that other stuff you don’t have in a tent.

Camping…
when there’s electricity, it’s not too bad!! Ha…I guess that’s not really camping then is it!! See ya…

Let me just say as a fellow Jen…
that I, too, sincerely believe that camping should be illegal. BUT, on the bright side: 1. you did not have to go camping, and 2. you got to go to the movies instead! yippee!

Ice Age…
I’ve never seen that movie. But, if a person comes back from a movie called “Ice Age” with a Biblical perspective, it must not be too bad. 🙂

Hi Connie! no, i actually would not recommend it. It definitely has evolutionary roots, and doesn’t give any Christian message at all within it. That squirrel was the only thing that struck me with something I could apply to my own life, but it most certainly is not a Christian based movie.
