The Convenience of Being Lazy

I am soooooooo tired of packing.  I have more junk than anybody has a right to have.  But in one month from now I'll be done, and (hopefully) all moved in to my cozy little house in TN. ha. little house.  It's actually not a little house at all.   We're moving from our 1100 square ft rental into a 4,000 square ft log cabin rental…. for about the same price that we're paying here in Ca.  Is that crazy or what?  I am very excited.  I'm not gonna know what to do with myself in a place that big.  The first thing I'm gonna do is play hide and seek. What a crazy month this has been.  Anyone wanna come over and help me pack?  Check it out, this is only part of the house because it was too big to fit in the whole picture… is this MONDO or what???

    Wow!

The log cabin looks great! I will not, however, come over to help you pack. I've only moved once and that was enough. I'll pray for your strength and that all goes according to His will!!

    Congrats!!!

So glad you found a place. It looks nice. So where exactly will you be moving? Will you be close to me? I'd be glad to come and help you pack. Does that mean I have to come to CA? lol.

    Blessings,

    Wowsers!

You and Gena could have shared that house! Well, maybe not. That would probably be just a bit TOO much closeness. But I'm sure you'll enjoy it a lot, it looks very cool. I think you should invite Gena over and then hide. Don't tell her you're playing Hide and Seek – just hide. Muahaha! Man, that crazy cat is going to have a HEYDAY sharpening its claws on all that wood. You'd better watch out, it might actually climb the walls! I want to see a picture if it does!

Hey, could you do me a favor and turn on your blog's RSS feed? I want to read when you post but I keep missing stuff because you don't have it turned on. I know, I'm very geeky, but can you just humor me anyway? 🙂 *batting eyelashes* All you have to do is go into your control panel to "Site Feed (RSS)" and change the "Publish Site Feed?" from No to Yes. Nothing will blow up, honest. Coie has hers on and has suffered no ill effects (that I know of). Then other geeks like me will not miss your entertaining posts.

    Movin on up

You're kind of like the Jeffersons – "Movin on up, to the East Coast. To the deluxe log cabin way up high…. Movin on up…."

Ok that didn't really flow like it did in my head. But you get the general idea. LOL We kind of did the reverse thing moving out to the country. We went from 3,000 sq ft to 1600. We threw away alot of stuff that should have been thrown away long ago, donated some to charity, then had to give away lots of furniture and still have a garage full of "things" that we can't figure out what to do with.

Just keep throwing things away as you pack. It's less to move and then you don't have to deal with as you're unpacking. Hold on to the memories. Give up the stuff!

Amazing…hope you have lots of helpers to keep the place clean, b/c even my Texas standards, that is a BIG house!

Coming from California is a big step, so welcome to the normal world! LOL

Praying for speedy packing, a safe trip and fun getting settled,

    Wow!

I can't believe you actually fit 6 kids in an 1100 square foot house! That's amazing in and of itself! I am so happy for you — 4000 square feet — wow!

I am so happy for you!!!

Oh, and so jealous. I know I am not supposed to covet—I am trying to not do that. I love my little 1000 sq ft cottage. I really do. But six people in here, makes it what, 10×15 per person? I am really lousy at math. But there just ain't a lot of room to breath here, and when you stretch or put on a shirt, you usually smack someone in the nose or eye or something…….

God's gonna super-size our house one of these days, I know He will!

    love, your popular friend,

    Packing

Yes I despise packing, and I am not looking forward to it! Thanks for the post! I hope yours goes well too. Glad to have you down here in the south!

BTW I am working some for TOS with Jessica, I am the "blog person" I think she calls me! It's been great!

    Speaking Tennessean

I'm copying this over from my response on Gena's blog … get working on your homework 🙂

I cannot wait for you and Gena to visit with me in a few weeks … I will get to view this sibliing rivalry up close and personal, right? I am preparing lessons and will hold a brief seminar on "Speaking Tennessean" … KarenW is right – y'all need some teachin' on this matter. Your homework until then is to figure out the following

    1. How do you greet people in TN?

    2. What do you call a carbonated beverage?

    3. What do you do when you come to a stoplight that is yellow?

    4. What do you call that thing that you use to put your groceries in at the grocery store?

    5. Football season is coming. What is the mascot for UT (Univ. of TN) and what are their colors? You MUST own a shirt in this color and wear it EVERY Friday during football season!

    Love y'all!

    Kris

    you'll love it!

We just moved last year from a 2000 sq ft to a 4300 sq foot. Believe me, it's a booger to clean …. it's an all day job just to vacuum and mop. But I really love the space. It's nice to send each kid to a different room for some alone time. I'm also in GA and I think you'll just LOVE the south!
