Jeneric Jeneralities ~ by JenIG

So I guess since Maggie Hogan is famous and all, and since she has that kid who wrote that book that I like so much, I will do what she says and post 5 things I'm currently reading that's not homeschool related.  However, I'm not going to tag anybody else because i am sick today and i'm too lazy to do that.  Actually, I'll do that right now.  No, no. Nevermind, I decided I won't after all.  So here's my list of Five Things I'm Currently Reading :

1) Voyage of the Dawn Treader (to my kids) and my nephew Luke

2) The Book of Ephesians; you know the one directly out of the bible, not a commentary by some pin head

3) When The Day of Evil Comes by Melanie Wells put out by Multnomah.  Boy is this one creepy book.  I don't know how doctrinally straight it is (and i haven't finished it yet) — I'd prob put it on the same level as Frank Peretti's This Present Darkness, except this book is 430 times more entertaining, and I like the writing style immensly.  I snored thru the first 4 chapters of This Present Darkness, where as with Melanie's book I could not put it down (my daughter kept stealing it from me, so we traded off reading chapter by chapter).  DON”T read it alone or at night.  Cuh-Ree-P… but prob the best fiction book I've read in a loooooooong time.  The only thing i really don't like about Melanie Wells is that she's this really abnormally gorgeous blonde woman who's prob about a size two.  I know this because I met her at a book signing.  It should be illegal to be that pretty.

4) i don't think i'm actually reading anything else right now.  I'm too busy packing.  however, I am listening to Rush Limbaugh right now so I spose that'll have to count.

5) I'm also listening thru a tape series on the book of Galatians by Michael Pearl, which has been the most worthwhile thing I've done in a long time.  It's really really good.

there.  hope you're happy maggie hogan

    Maggie is miffed

You called her weird on her blog, but that was before I posted my comment to the same entry. She thinks I'm weirder and I think she's a little bothered thinking that you will not see the evidence thereof. Of course, I know you know I'm weirder…but if you want to calm her ruffled feathers, go read my comment on her last entry and let her know that yes, you see I am weirder than she is.

Sheesh. The things I do for that woman. Now that I'm done doing this, I have to go add a 'Currently Reading' list to her sidebar. It just never ends, I tell ya!

    Signed,

    The Geeky Weirdo

    My 5 books

I'll pretend like you tagged me and post my 5 books here (because if you really did tag me, I wouldn't do it. Not that I'm a tag-snob, but they just seem to multiply if you let them!):

The Simple Faith of Mr. Rogers by Amy Hollingsworth (a very good book that I'm passing onto DreweLlyn when I finish)

The Friday Afternoon Club by Cyndy Salzmann (this is a great fictional read, and it even includes really good recipes, making it even more fun!)

Bookbinding Basics by Paola Rosati (because I want to know how to create my own journals)

The 20-Minute Gardener by Christopher and Asher (because I could write a book with that title, so I hope to plagiarize a bit, in case I ever follow up on that thought)

Creative Counterpart by Linda Dillow (because no matter how many times I read it, when I finish, I forget that I'm supposed to be a loving wife and an efficient mother, so I have to read it again and again).

    Hey Jen!

I feel bad to be the one to tell you, but if it becomes illegal to be an incredibly beautiful, you are going to jail, girl.

    I FINALLY did it!!

I finally responded to the tag that you tagged me with..

Five things you will never hear me say:

-Oh, please don't take me to my favorite chocolate shop!

-I'm to busy for a hug and a kiss

-I am a morning person, wake me up before dawn!

    -Pull my finger

-Sure, you can play video games all day!

I feel sooooo out of the blogging loop now… I missed like… a lot of days!

    Love,

    Di

    Creepy Books

I read This Present Darkness a long time ago when my husband was a state trooper. He was working mid night shift and the book freaked me out. I had to put it up and read something lighter. I did eventually get it read. Don't know if I could handle anything creepier. How's the packing going?

Hope the packing and moving is going smoothly!

ah, Rush Limbaugh. He's good, but gets on my nerves after a bit. I like Sean Hannity so much better. at hannity.com you can listen to him online. Which is better than a fuzzy AM station LOL.

I'm listening to Mike Pearl's Galatians too. Finished Romans and Ephesians. LOVE those. My husband is listening to Ephesians and Tara Schaffer and her husband have borrowed the Romans.

    Good stuff.

Debi's new book is a work of brilliance! Convicts me every time I read it. Which is alot. I have to keep having refreshers, you know. Submission does NOT come easy to me. I once gave my husband a bloody nose. Mean thing. *_* Well,if he would just build the chicken coop…
