Are You Getting Ready for the VR2VA?
VR2VA(Virginia Reel 2 in Virginia) …Jacque came up with that, and I like it! I hope you are planning now to come out to join us this Oct. 20 in Abingdon VA for the 07 Second Annual Barn Dance. And do not pay any heed to the ridiculous video on Gena’s blog of me and geoff the great. That video was obviously tampered with in an effort to down play my highly skilled dance abilities. The below poster is courtesy of Young Master Austin. and I think Mr. Bluedorn looks great in that new look: Terrified. Muaahahahaha. And doesn’t Geoff the Great look marvelous when he is threatening utter dance off destruction? That’s my man. Start making plans NOW to attend! Even Marshie will be there, and believe me, that lady is worth meeting! Keep checking here for updates, and if you are traveling from out of town, I highly recommend you make your reservations HERE, which is also the same place where we held the P & P party. It is a GORGEOUS and affordable/comfortable/convenient campground… and if you stay there then you can meet over at my house on Oct 20th and follow us up to the Barn Dance. And Marshie lives in TEXAS, so don’t go telling me it’s too far for you to come. It’s going to be SUPER FUN! Put it on your calendar and we’ll see you soon! And now, as much as it tweaks the Nutpickle, I still maintain my abhorance for Valentines Day. If you’re on the list to get The Homeschool Minute, you’ll see why in my blurb tomorrow when it is sent out. In that same installmant, Julie links to the article below in her ‘blurb’. Thanks Julie! YIKES…
All I can do is to re-iterate almost everything you just said… On different occasions, of course.
I was going to say it's nice to know you're normal, but I don't want to be *that* normal ever again. So, I'll say – it's nice to hear an encouraging account of God changing the heart of a wife and mother into the great example she is today.
Yes, we laughed as we read about Geoff checking the house number and the comment as he dashed out the door, but I am heartbroken for you – and me – and others who have gone through this and/or still are. And the children…
God, forgive me for setting my bad examples.
What a merciful, wonderful God we serve. He truly loves us enough to catch us in our rebellious tracks and give us the chance to make things right. Hallelujah!
Had a GREAT time worshiping with y'all. You are all welcome to come here any Sunday and make us stand up and sing. We'll be here; let us know…
Trying *not* to be the hag…. or the nag…

You know, I always *love* what you write – in TOS or the Minute.

I like chocolate cake
I'm picturing the "wow" dress to be a homeschooler's denim jumper… BUT, with a lot of flowery embroidery.
A colorful turtleneck top, very clean white tennis shoes with white bobby-socks.
—Please let me keep that thought—
It is so important to confess and repent of sins, and to do so as far as they are seen. Our children need to see us admitting our sins and serving others… especially our husbands. Having a quick tongue or the ability to verbally take down another person is nothing to be proud of. There is nothing of Christ in that. We were made for Christ and for our own husband, we need to lovingly serve and be surrendered to both. –That is always a great reminder to hear, thank you!
Ephesians 5: 22 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. 24 Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. –
NKJV
Laurie Bluedorn posted links to some really good sermons on this topic, here is one:

Fixing Pop Views of Marriage Part 2 by Paul Washer
Mainly addressed to wives. “Many women think their husbands are incompetent, so they want to train their husbands to be the men they ought to be…. You’re going to train this man to be the man he ought to be? You’re not a man; you’re not trained to be a man; you’re not wired to be a man; you’re not called to be a man. You can’t train him to be a man. Let him go! And let God train him. ‘Well, I just don’t trust that he’s going…’ No. When you say that you don’t trust that he’ll change, what you’re saying is that you don’t trust that God will change him — either that He cannot because He has no power, or He will not because He’s not covenant keeping.”

Love it!
Yes! My "soapbox" is biblical womanhood and submission….and of course you can imagine the crazed looks I get when people find that out about me! But this says it all!! God takes the tiniest shred of obedience, of trying things His way, and blesses it beyond measure!! It doesn't make the least bit of sense for a hag to bake a cake for an ogre, but for the King's daughter, to lavish love on the King's son….now that makes a whole lot of sense!! Just have to take a minute to remove the hag mask, right? And invite the prince to remove his ogre mask. 🙂 Thank you!!

This was by far your longest post EVER. My you are long winded today. Better slow down on the coffee. And I think we should have the VA barn dance in Oct at that same place we had Coie's party. Why don't you reserve it? We need a massive place cuz this year's will be double the people as last year's since we're starting the publicity so early. What say you? You're in a talking mood; why don't you get on the phone and make some sort of deal? And since you're so talky tina today anyway, why don't you get on the PHONE and sell some ads?

I am definately too far away, you did mean me as well didn't you. I just don't think my husband would be open to the idea at all even if I baked him a thousand cakes.
I really enjoyed your cake story, being right is totally over rated and yet at times I enjoy it so much. My flesh does the victory dance for a short time but in the end I lose out.
Thank God I was saved, I'd be such an unbearable cow.

Wishful thinking
I wish I could come! But you know, even if Texas is far, we'd be coming across the border to make it! Wouldn't that be a fun family vacation though?

So you aren't a big fan of Valentines Day? Me neither. Even more so after this year–after what happened to me:
