Jeneric Jeneralities ~ by JenIG

I am so thankful for the ladies in my bible study group.  I hope that you have friends in your life who speak truth and encouragement into your life.  What a blessing Christian fellowship is.  It is so easy to neglect, but we were intended to truly operate as a body – interacting with others who love Him.  If you are planning to start a bible study, I highly recommend the study resources by John MacArthur.

Minutes after I got home, I was changing my clothes (in my closet) and I heard a commotion in the dining room.  I only caught the last part of my husband bellowing, “No James, you CANNOT pee in the crockpot”.  Okaaaaaaaaaay, that was more than enough reason for me to take my sweet time locked away in the room.

Please tell me I do not have the only 3 and a half year old who does stuff like that….

I thought I'd heard it all

With 10 little ones, I thought I'd heard most everything. The other day we were at my sisters house having a bbq and my 3 1/2 yr. old, Josiah, had to go potty. I asked big brother Elijah (9) to take him inside to the bathroom. A minute later, Elijah comes back outside whining. When I asked him what was the matter, he said, "Josiah peed on my neck!" I asked if he had his head in the toilet or something, but he said no. Then Josiah comes outside crying. I asked what was wrong with him and Elijah answered, "He peed in his eyes too." I don't think I want to know! 🙂 3 1/2 year olds are a different breed! 🙂

Almost embarrassed to admit this, but…

I came home from a church meeting one evening to hear that my 6 y.o. (boy – what else) had peed in an empty jar (and partly missed – he IS a boy) in the living room. Apparently, he was too scared to go down the hall; but not too scared to go in the utility room to get the jar. I blame his brother.

That's hilarious! My now 7-year old always loved to pee in weird places when he was little. Actually, if he could get away with it, I KNOW he would still be peeing in weird places every chance he got. Silly boys!

I guess being a mom of only girls I miss some of that wierdness.

I do remember a trip to the beach with a dear friend of mine. Her little boy was potty training so he would just drop his drawrs anywhere and pee.. even on someone elses tire in the Walmart parking lot.. way too funny.

    Boys : )

Mine did it a couple of years ago in the parking lot of a used car lot. I turned my back for a second to talk to a salesman and thought "hmm, what's that sound?". Turned around to see my 3 yo son with his pants down around his knees, twisting back and forth and spraying the pavement. I turned white, then red and was in a panic trying to get him to stop and apologizing to everyone. The salesman could barely stand up he was laughing so hard.

    My Sweet 3 year old

dropped his drawers and peed all over some of our books that were on the floor. Waaah. We don't have those books anymore! (He is 6 now)

Thanks for the reminder about 3 year old boys……our youngest is 1 year TODAY. Happy days are soon to be here again! 😉

    Oh Girl…

I can so relate to that story…my son (who is soon to turn 13!!!) was about that age when we took him to the local Lowes store. It was about the same time we were potty-training. When we walked into the bathroom section I caught him out the corner of my eye pulling down his pants. He had made a bee-line to the toilet display and was about to try one out! We caught him just before he blessed Lowes with a "golden shower". LOL! As you know, this too will pass…but what a story to torment him with when his future wife comes along. :0)

    Blessings,

    Lori

    staying in the closet….

Reading thru Jen's experience with the "pee in the crockpot" cracked me up…it brought memories of a time I "hid in the closet"—I DID NOT want to come out and see what my husband was laughing like a maniac about as my then 3 & 5 year-old boys were in the bath. Apparently, they looked under the sink for toys and found my, uh, "sanitary stuff"…they proceeded to peel the backing off the "stuff," stuck it on their foreheads, and were using other "sanitary things" as torpedos, if you catch my drift!! Thanks for the funny reminder!!

Isn't it awesome when we have Christian sisters that we can worship the Lord with? I am so thankful for my sisters in Christ!

Nope, you're not the only one with a boy like that. My boys are not boys anymore, but I remember lots of conversations just like that one! What is it with boys wanting to pee in everything but the potty?!!! LOL

You are sooo not the only one…

with little ones who have done and who do that kind of stuff.:) Sometimes even sleeping/sleepwalking older people can create some interesting bathroom stories.:):)

You are not the only one with kids that do weird things. I won't comment because my kids are old enough to be embarrassed. I just thought you should know you are not alone!

    Talk about embarrassing!!

Last spring I went to help out at an all girls camp for a week with my Mom and a couple of friends. We had to take the kiddos along with us so we had three little boys playing swords etc in the middle of a girls camp! I was working in the kitchen one afternoon during the free time when one of the councilors came in and tried to tell me something but couldn't stop laughing long enough to speak! She pushed me out the door to see my then 4 year old in the middle of the camp with trousers at his ankles relieving himself at a bush! The girls were everywhere and didn't know what to do with themselves!!! Frankly neither did I!! Thankfully the other leaders found it hysterical because I was mortified!!

PS – Thanks for the warning, I think I'll pass if you make us dinner from the 'Fix it and forget it' cookbook!! 🙂

When Dash was little, we went to the little play area at the mall. You know, carpeted, indoors, has those big foam rocks and things to slide and climb on. I look up to see my son standing on a giant boulder in the middle of the play area, pants down to his ankles, and about to relieve himself. I was mortified! I ran over and grabbed him. He could not figure out what in the world I was so upset about! (and I know he was at least 4 years old at the time)…

    Yeah, carpet…toddler area…foam playground…and pee just don't mix.

    Love,

No you are not the only one whose son does this. My sister caught my nephew up on the sink in the kitchen (he had removed all of the dishes) and he was standing up on the counter doing his business.

I guess when you gotta go you gotta go

    Blessings

Lol…..We just had to teach our son that every tree was not for his use. (Like the ones in Lowes parking lot?) The trials and tribulations of living on a farm….

I wouldn't change it for the world.

    BWAH HAH HAH!!!!:):):)

I have four boys. They have peed (amoungst other embarrasing places) in the church parking lot, into the landscaping surrounding a McDonald's playground, at a multi-deominational city wide church pic-nic, in a public park and one of them was about to pee in the pond display at Lowe's but I caught him. I can't tell you how many times I've run frantically to stop an 'incident'.

Yep, you're all alone with the 3 yo boy stuff. 🙂

My then 3yo boy pulled his pants down in a ladies front yard as my husband was talking to a potential client. She must have never had boys and FREAKED out. Oh, and how do you stop a little boy midstream? you don't. You just endure the embarassment.
