This Will Be A Lovely Week
SO, some very good news is that my little newlywed sister and her newlywed husband have come all the way from To their credit, I am amazed they even looked this cognitive. They had a ten hour flight to DC and then rented a car and drove for another 8 hours straight to get to our house yesterday morning. Despite that killer of a trip, they soon sprang to life. My kids were in heaven, they brought a whole suitcase full of very fun presents. They will be here for a week – it is exactly what we needed. They are experts at keeping things light and very very fun. Plus my sister is an abnormally proficient organizer and cleaner, so that’s an added bonus! My new bro-in-law is a very funny guy. He does not sit still for long. In the afternoon, Geoff had Coie work on her car; while they were doing that, Mr. Charles Preston made himself useful in any and every way he could think of. Here is Coie taking care of business. Can you see Mr. Preston in the background also working hard? Their rental was giving him some trouble on the way down… Mr. Preston has kept busy since he got here. The kids love it. He has been building (or teaching them to build) all manner of stuff – tire swings, bows and arrows, etc. Very sweet. I like him quite a lot, even despite the fact that he has the nerve to beat me at Boggle. And…for those of you scratching your head, yes, I know what you are wondering, and no, I can’t explain it. But thank you for your emails and for all of the very kind comments and especially for your continued prayers. |

Tell Jess hi from quietcajun!
You are still in my prayers. No need to explain anything to us… just tell it to your Heavenly Father. He is the only one who really needs to know.

Ahhh… nothing like a sister to make you smile and just know what you need. My sisters are all together right now at my parent's house. But alas, this is the first time EVER that I could have gone but chose to stay home. Too much travelling has made my family get wonky– and not in a good way!
Yup, those economy cars aren't as roomy as they used to be. A handy-dandy brother-in-law is tres cool… Especially if they are the present-toting variety.
And can we say enough good stuff about Coie? She is definitely my kind of girl– not too fru-fru.
Love ya,
Marshie

Gee…must have been a VERY long 8-hour trip for them in that little car. Tell me: Which one steered, and which one pushed? LOL!
Glad they're there to visit you. Been praying hard for you and your family. It's usually when times are the hardest that we can feel God's arms around us the best.

So glad you're enjoying a family visit. My sister is coming tomorrow, but only for 2 nights. Sounds like her new husband is fitting right in—is that a scary thought–for him?

That rental car is cute!!!!! Resembles the one they rented on their honeymoon (yes, I visited your sister's blog and didn't comment…does this mean I'm a lurker????)
I'm so happy for you all that your getting to be with your little sister and her new hubby…how old are they…they look like teenagers!!!!!! And your sister is just as gorgeous as you are!!!!! Charles (is that what he goes by) and Geoff are two lucky fellas!
