The Holidays Have Officially Begun
I totally forgot about Noxema. I stole this liquid foundation from Coie – well, technically, I didn’t steal it because she was throwing it away – and it had the smell and the slight tingly sensation of Noxema. I love that stuff. I wonder what else I’ve forgotten about that I like. So today we are cleaning and cleaning and baking stuff, like pies, which I would not have thought to do early, except I read that’s what Julie Austin is doing and by gum, that’s just smart. We have two turkeys thawing, plus Geoff’s mom said she was bringing a turkey when she comes. So that makes three turkeys. Incredible math skills, I know. We’re going to be eating turkey until 2008. And last night Coie brought me two Fall smelling candles plus a Frank Sinatra Christmas cd. So it officially feels like “the holidays” around the Igarashi Farm. We may even get a tree this weekend. I figure this year has gone by SO fast that I’d better start the Christmas season a tad early otherwise it will fly past before I even realize that we’re in it. I also found our Chocolate Advent Calendar and loaded it with candies. We’re all set. I probably won’t blog again for the rest of the week, so I just wanted to wish everyone a cozy, happy, memorable, jolly, Thanksgiving. May our Lord bless you this year and in the years to come. Enjoy the loved ones in your life!
PS remember how i said it was snowing last week? It’s been in the low 70’s for the last couple of days. What’s up with that??? |

hahaha, i always forget about stuff i like- particularly outfits. I'll buy a super cute outfit that i see all put together on a manacan (i KNOW I can't spell that word) at the mall, and then somehow never manage to where the entire outfit together – as I'd originally planned. (and knowing *my* great lack of fashion-knowledge, this is NOT a good thing). Oh well i guess. I'll just join the comfy 30s hat club with Co i guess.
Happy 35th wedding anniversary by the way.
We're going to decorate our house this weekend, too! I can't wait. We're going to start a tradition of going out and cutting down our Christmas tree from the woods (or next to the road)…
love you

Is this not the most outrageously beautiful weather or WHAT? And, YUM! I love Noxema. I may have to go buy some just to smell it. You think they make Noxema candles?

So, you used to live in Washington, huh? I have a friend that lives in Medical Lake right now. DH's mom lives in Sandpoint, Idaho. Such a beautiful area.

Blessed Thanksgiving to all of you! I am thankful that your inlaws were safe from the tornado, and that you get to be together. I'm also thankful that I get to come here and lurk around, reading about all your family's adventures. It's fun!
BTW, I would totally love some 70 degree weather about now. Send it on up!

three turkeys?
You shouldn't have! How did you know that Kristina and I are celebrating our birthdays today (except I'm WAAAAAYYY younger) so when you come for tea next Thursday we'll happily share your leftover birds with you. I make an excellent Chicken Enchillada thingy, and I'm pretty sure you could do Curry Turkey instead of chicken, no? (and you should ask Kris for her pumpkin burrito recipe. I've yet to try it but just the idea makes my mouth water.)
It is so nice of you Americans to be overly thankful on our birthday weekend….we really appreciate it.

Holidays and snow and cooking ahead
We will be cooking and baking our heads off here today too….not b/c of lots of company, but b/c I really do just want to relax tomorrow. Sort of like a vacation (yeah, right!). I do not like the holidays. I usually go into meltdown and curl up into a little emotional cocoon. However, small son LOVES Christmas music and has been playing it on this obscenely ridiculous station that plays Christmas music 24/7 beginning BEFORE Halloween. And I'm sorry, but being raised in Michigan, I cannot even BEGIN to think of getting in the holiday spirit w/o snow….and yeah, small son and I were shopping yesterday w/o coats. However, today, it's supposed to rain, then turn to snow b4 tomorrow….I agree….what's up with that??

HAPPY THANKSGIVING, IGARASHI'S!!!
Dear Jen and Family,
Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours! Your family is in our prayers daily, as we pray for the dear saints of this world.
Thank you for your writings and for sharing your life with us (even though I get a little creeped out at myself sometimes knowing so much about other people's lives whom I haven't even met, ya know???) You regularly touch my heart.
Love in Christ,
Christine Masloske

It was 78 degrees here ( in Virginia) yesterday and 72. We almost need to turn the AC back on. It's supposed to get much cooler this weekend but I don't know if it will stay or not. I'm going to have to buy some more summer clothes!
Happy Thanksgiving!!

We just got our first snow of the season on Wednesday. Our boys were ecstatic! Needless to say, we had a hard time getting our schoolwork done. 🙂 Hope you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Thank you!
Thank you for the sweet comment on my blog this week. It really touched me to know that you are praying for me!
I am newly expecting and am blessed with all-day sickness (For example – I gag whenever my kids cough because the sound reminds me of my own gagging – wierd, but it doesn't take much to make me gag at this point 🙂 I know, TMI.
Anyway, I was really happy to hear from you. I am a terrible blogger, and so don't frequent here often because I don't frequent anywhere often. I don't even frequent my own blog, which is in dire need of updating. But, when I do come here, there is always something very interesting to read about and great pictures, too! You are an amazing blogger.
I pray your Thanksgiving season has not ended yet and that your hearts are full of thanksgiving for our great and God and Savior as well as all the friends and family He has provided. He is so worthy of our continual thanksgiving, is He not?

3 TURKEYS!!!
That sounds like us… only 10 people, and a 14 pound turkey. Plus a smoked turkey breast and 4 smoked turkey legs. We had a TON of left overs.
No left over pie though… Hmmm… Maybe next year I"ll have more pie! Ãœ

Hello
I've enjoyed your blog for a long while now, and here I am, just now making my first comment. I thought I would let you know I adore your humor, every time I get on your blog, I start cracking up. 🙂
Here, the first day of snow was on Thanksgiving, most of it melted once it hit the ground, but a few lingered. 🙂 I'm looking forward to lots of snow! I really enjoy getting in the Christmas spirit and putting up all the decorations, but we won't put them up until after my birthday (11-30).
May I add you to my friends . . . 🙂
Thanks for blogging, I hope you've had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
May God Bless,
Emily Rose
