So, the day after tomorrow Coie and I are off to the MASSHope convention. I *was* looking forward until I found out (today) that I’ve been scheduled to do a workshop. Eeeeeeps! Actually… after the room stopped spinning and the hot flashes subsided, I’ve started looking forward to it; I think it will be pretty fun. And if I run out of things to talk about, I suppose I can always segue way into my interpretive dance routine. In other news, I remembered what I was going to tell you last time I blogged. This is so cool – you know how we had a new bunch of eggs in the incubator? Well, eleven hatched over the weekend, but what was really neato was last Tuesday Emmiko heard some noises coming from the old shed, and when she went to investigate she found a bunch of broken egg shells and a mama sitting on four fluffy little fellas. We were all so surprised. I suppose we shouldn’t have been, I mean, I suppose that’s the natural way it generally happens. Golly are they cute! and it is so sweet seeing them skip after their mommy. In other other-ly news, I’m sorry to announce that I’ve been having discipline issues with my kidneys. They’re totally working against me. I have *no* idea how they learned to manufacture their own gravel, but they did, and they’re good at it. So anyways, a couple weeks ago I had to go in for a CT scan, and then this morning I drove allllllll the way down to Coie said they ought to just poke a hole in my back and then turn me upside down and shake me. That’s how I get the picks out of my guitar when James drops them in the hole. Anyways, I’m just praying my bowling ball stays put until I can get back home. I can’t think of anything *less* fun than giving birth to a kidney stone on a crowded airplane. Ok, I guess I better go start packing again. And if you are going to be at the convention in MA this weekend come see us at booth 200! And feel free to bring us pretzels and/or cookies. Last weekend it was so busy that we almost starved to death. |

OUCH! So sorry to hear about your 'bowling ball'. I'll pray that it breaks up on its own and passes without pain. In the meantime, have fun in MA!

Sorry to hear about the Kidney stones. I will pray that you have a healthy weekend away and that the Lord will intervene and take care of the stones with minimum intervention!

Oh man—
I am so disappointed you wont be at CHAP (PA)…. that stinks!!!
You are so funny!! Always love reading your posts–
WISH our chickens would do something Hen-ey and lay on some eggs— I guess ours are bred NOT do do such things?? (crazy)
PS: Maybe the dance routine wouldn't be your best bet—try some of your newly aquired Spanish!! 🙂

Dear Jen-
I wish I lived in Rhode Island because than I would drive to MA to see you! I can't come see you next Thursday because I have something to do already. The Thursday after that I may be in Rhode Island than. Can you come back to MA that week?
If not than I will have to catch up with you after Mother's Day because I know I won't be back until after that day. Don't ask about when we are leaving because I am still bugging….. I mean asking Joe about that. : )
Sorry to hear about your BIG OL kidney stones. I hope that you can take care of it the less painfully and safe the better!
Love,
Maria
ps – have a safe trip

Hi
Jen, I pray those kidney stones away for you!!!! I enjoyed your humorous perspective. That's more than half the battle with any health issue is being positive! You certainly will not be one of those old cranky sorts when you get aged will you? If you do then your children will come right back at ya with that same humor you have shown!!

Goats
You know, by stating that this was a goat free post you defeated your purpose and turned it into a goat post.
And I still say you should try to sell a stone on ebay to offset the excruciating pain. We'll be upholding you in prayer!! 🙂

Aww Jen,
I am so sorry to hear about your kidney stones.
I will pray that they resolve in the most painfree (and dynamite-free) way possible!
(I did have to laugh at the guitar analogy though…very funny!)
And your little chickies are soooo cute!
I wish we weren't smack dab in the middle of a city.
My kids would LOVE farm life!
God Bless,
Michelle

You are so stinkin' hilarious, Jen! You make me laugh even when I'm simultaneously worrying about you… your health anyway, not your mental state– because there's not much I can do about that.
Have a safe trip and no birthing allowed on the airplane!
Love ya,
Marshie

I vote for blasting the rocks. I've had one before, and all my real baby births combined don't compare to the pain of passing a kidney stone au natural. And there's certainly nothing cute and cuddly about gravel that will make all the pain "worthwhile".
Have fun at your next conference and don't starve!

Hi Jen! I just had a thought. Are you two doing any conventions in VA this summer? There are two that are near me – Chantilly and Richmond – will you be at either one? I'd come to whichever to meet you IRL! That would be serious fun! So let me know.

What fun to see you!!!
I'll be watching you from my booth, so you better be on your best behavior!
I'd love to try to squeeze a lunch in. It'll be harder for you than me…we have three working our booth. Or what about dinner tomorrow night? (Friday)
See you tomorrow convention buddy! 😉

LOL
This was such a funny "Jen" post. Oh my, if the whole kidney thing wasn't serious I would probably keel over laughing. You are such a witty writer. I cannot imagine thinking of the things you think of.
You and your genuine uproarious behavior had better settle down. Love the chick pics and miss yer guts.
