Things to Cry About

I’m using Google Documents to type this out  I usually use Microsoft Word, but I can’t use Microsoft Word because guess why?  Nevermind, I’ll just tell you.  My most excellently perfect Darling restored my computer (which had a nasty cold) and when I pulled it back up EVERYTHING was wiped out.  All of my programs like Word and Excel, but even more exciting, all of my personal documents were also wiped out.  All of them.  So I was a little shaken up but didn’t freak out or anything, but then I remembered that I had about 14 articles in a folder for a (top secret) project I’m working on and it was gone. GONE.  TOTALLY GONE

So I cried.  And that’s saying a lot.  It takes a bunch to make me cry (unless one of our friends from church gives Ryann a new keyboard — then I also lose it).  So I called my beautiful excellent perfect husband and quivered, "I law-aw-awwwawwww-st evevev-every-thth-thing — sniff sniff snort snort".  And he told me, "Sit down at the computer…ok, now push this button and that button and then type in such and such" and to my surprise absolutely every one of my files popped up.  Magic.  So then I cried for joy.  Good heavens, I’m turning into a blubbering buffoon in my old age.  Anyways, the programs still need to be re-loaded, like Word and stuff, but… big deal.  Besides, I’m sorta liking this Google Documents option.  And it automatically saves my stuff as I go.  I wonder if it is just stored on the net so if my compy crashed I’d still have everything.  I’ll have to look into that.

Ok, so, tell me if this is normal.  My little son, Tyrannical James, has got this pair of blue jammies, right?  He’s had them for about a year (I think I got them from Shay — who I get to see tomorrow on the way down to FL — WHHHHOOOOO HOOOOOO!!) anyways, he wakes up everyday and puts them on.  Every day.  He wants to wear them constantly.  And when I put other clothes on him he’ll wear them for a bit, but then the next thing I know, I’ll turn around and he’s in those blue jammies.  I am starting to hate those blue jammies…

And I tried to get rid of them.  I put them out of reach (planning to give them away) and then when he went rummaging thru his drawers he came to me *more* than a little stressed and said, "uhhhhh, mommy?  Where my bew jammies at?" and I told him, "I took them away, son, they are getting too small and I want you to wear other things now".  He looked panic stricken and said, "You please give me my jammies, mommy?" and I told him, "No, my son.  No more jammies" and then his eyes welled up and his chin started to quiver and he said, "…. mommy?  mommy? please mommy? mommy please get my jammies?" and then he put his head on my knees and sobbed.  Heavens to Betsy! Even *I* wasn’t cold hearted enough to tell him to stop being a ninny.  So I got his jammies and he pulled them on, and he still wears them every day. EVERY DAY.  Ridiculous.

Anyhow, I should be packing right now.  Happily, yesterday I got pretty much everything caught up before we leave, including ironing.  I actually like to iron. It’s relaxing.  Which reminds me, after finishing a pair of Geoff’s pants yesterday, I turned around and guess what I found on the ironing board?  James’ blue jammies.  I looked at that child and said, "What is this?" and he told me "You can iron my jammies".  That’s where I drew the line.  No, I did not iron the jammies.

This is gonna be one busy day.  I have to pick up a rental, and then pick Ryann up at our pastor’s house (I think she’d like to move in with them – they’re exceedingly swell), go to the store, and then hopefully get everything together because me and Coie are leaving for FL bright and early in the am.  Yipppeeeeee!!!  I am looking forward to this trip SO much.  And, while I’m thinking of it ATTENTION FL BLOGGERS, almost everyone who emailed about meeting at Chevys is coming in on Friday rather than thursday so THURSDAY at Chevys aint gonna work. So just meet us at the Rosetta Stone booth sometime on Friday and Kim Murphy will have a plan all put together, won’t you Kim?  heh heh

Oh yeah, and did you see Coie’s latest post?  That also made me get all teary.

    Sniff, sniff

I'm glad your tears turned into tears of joy. Computers are wonderful tools but they can be SOOOOO frustrating at times!

Sometimes my problem is user error – it always takes me so long to post to my blog. You'd think I'd have it down by now. I think Imageshack is my problem right now. Not very user friendly 🙁 I"ll get off my rant now.

Anyway, have a safe trip down and we will look for you Thursday night at FPEA!

Whew! I am SO glad Geoff the Great got the documents back for you! I would've been crying too… but that could be b/c I'm starting to get old like you. hehe

Hey, when did King James turn into Tyrannical James? Dozer is the same way about his Batman pajamas. He doesn't even know who Batman is, for crying out loud!

And yet I get him another set of Batman since it's too hot for his too small and too hot pair of long sleeve pjs. But honestly, it's worth it! I just love it when he goes "I Batman!" "I rescue you!" "See my muscles, mommy?! Grrrr…." I just love that boy!

But not enough to iron his pjs. I'm glad you have a little sense of sanity left in ya!

Have a safe and FUN trip!!!

    Love,

    Marshie

I'm so glad that you were able to get your articles back. I would have cried WITH you had Geoff not been able to walk you through the recovery of those files. Aren't husbands just splendid? Sometimes they get a bad rap for only ever wanting to 'fix' it, but I'm undoubtedly thankful that men ARE programed that way, and that they usually CAN figure *something* out when our world seems to be crashing in on us.

And yes, I loved Coie's post. You have the sweetest chilens in the world.

And yes, google documents is a *wonderful* thing. GOOD IDEA!

And yes, you're just getting soooooo old. *as jess rolls her eyes*

I can't wait to see these blue pjs of James'. Even though you told me about them on the phone the other day, reading it again here in your post made me almost tear up just thinking about him not being able to have his beloved little jammies anymore. At least he's WEARING something. Last I knew (and saw), you couldn't *keep* anything of the clothing sort on that kid.

    CHEVY'S

Good Heavens, I was concerned that I might miss the Chevy's party. So glad we are leaving it to the ever capable Kim to work things out. =) I'll pop by the booth sometime Thursday nite.

BTW~ I am flying in on Thursday AM, but I have a hair appt that afternoon (With my former stylist in FL~PTL~there is a blog post in my hair dilemma since moving here) so I would not have been able to come. But I will be looking ever so spiffy when we do meet up.

    Drive carefully…see you soon! =)

Awww! that's too cute about the 'ninny j's'. ha ha! Yes, I have a little one that likes to do that with her clothes as well…I end up hiding the item so I can wash it. When she comes asking, I play dumb. I think it's playing…..

    AHHHH, Computers!

Yep, we had an internt driver crash on our 2 month old computer, go figure. And the funny thing is that Ryan is in IT school, yet I am the one who handles all the computer malfunctions and I have "helped" him on most of his homework. Bless his heart, he just has trouble with problem solving.

Wear sunscreen while in FL, whitey! I heard what happened the last time you didn't wear it. You must love FL as much as I do. I especially love the beach, although I refuse to swim very much in the ocean (do,do..do, do,… do, do, do, do…dodododo! Jaws!). Thank God for man-made chlorine filled pools. Have a great time and be careful. I will lift you up on your travels with Coie. Have fun girls.

I don't know about *normal* LOL, bu tmy daughter spent a year I think wearing this purple leotard, the kind with the little attached skirt? When I finally took it away from her, her little sister picked right up where the elder left off and wore it for another year and a half….It still occassionaly makes an appearance , but not so much that ever remember to toss it once it's back off her!

How sweet about the blue jammies! I think most children go through this. I know my boys did. I think it's comforting to them or something.

I'm SO glad you were able to get your documents back. I have to tell ya – I'd have been crying, too!!

Have a great trip to FL and have lots of fun!

    God bless you – Julie

I thought I told you that my leadership style is about as effective as Moe Howard's! Sure, no pressure. I say we just eat at the Rosetta Stone booth…you are offering a bowl of candy, right?

    Hmph.

I cry a lot – about stupid stuff. I wish I wouldn't. I've even tried biting my lip like they do in books but it just doesn't work. I'm so glad you found your files!

Hey Jen…just want to ask you to pray for us. Today they told us that they are pretty sure my dear hubby Daniel has gallbladder cancer. He's going to the Captiol city for more scans and surgery. I'm updating on our ministry blog right now.

I just want people to pray. God is so good and faithful.

    Pajamas

O.k., so as a kid I refused to where anything but a pair of Pooh pajamas and my mom had to buy an extra set so she could wash one while I wore the other. I was just as wierd.

It sound like fun, being able to get together with Florida bloggers! And Chevy's..YUMM!

I had to tell you, that I bought my 9 year old the first book in the Kingdom Series, and he loves it. Last night he figured out that all of the words He and His were capitalized like in the Bible. I told him that is because it's an alagory of the Bible. They are such great books! I think my son found another favorite series.

As the Mickey Mouse Club groomed the children of the 60s for the 70s revelry cycle so is the Disney-production that is Hannah Montana grooming the children for the next revelry cycle, 2010-2020. The incest photo was a clue.

Similarly, as guitar strumming was very sociable back then so is Guitar Hero the training tool used to gain male interest today.

Osama struck a "deal" with a record company executive in 2007::::With this Democrat in office I suspect we are going to witness an intense revelry cycle like we experienced in the 1970s.

You're the first person I've ever heard say they like to iron besides moi. I luv it. Some might say I take my love of ironing too far.

I found a funny YouTube video about the ironing board and iron….thought I'd share.
