Jeneric Jeneralities ~ by JenIG

I practically nearly almost feel partially alive again.  I think I musta been sick, because I was wiped out.  Geoff the Great has also been dragging this last week.  Now that his body does not have to work non stop seven days a week, I think it’s deciding to play catch up on sleep.

It’s been nice to have him home (and awake).  Yesterday we drove to NC to pick up Ryann (who has been rapping ever since she got home …  uh… *thanks* Shay).  I really like Ashville.  I mean, yes, it’s kooky and all, but I can’t help it.  It reminds me of Davis, CA.  Totally liberal, tons of gypsy / hippie shops, trendy coffee cafes and weird looking people BUT it sort of satisfies a longing for my old home in Cali.  The drive home from NC was uncanny.  We took 25 (down the mountain) to get home and I kid you not, it looked almost exactly like the drive we used to take from our favorite camping spot in Ca (French Meadows) when we’d head back home to Coloma / Lotus / Grass Valley.  I really enjoyed it.  Plus we got to go to Panda Express.  I love that Chinese restaurant, which I can’t find anywhere in TN.

Dippy just came in here and asked if it was a sin to use crayon on his Explode the Code worksheet and then snickered and snorted.  His sense of humor still in the ‘development’ stage.  Speaking of Dippy, here is a picture that me and Coie took of him when we went to Gatlinburg last week.  I did not know he had worn his moon boots until we got out of the car.   What a weird kid.

Ok, in non-weird kid news, here’s something neato.  Look what I got in the mail yesterday:

It’s an advanced copy of the brand new Chuck Black novel, Sir Kendrick & The Castle of Bel Lione.  And guess what, I’m in it!  Well, sort of.  I wrote an endorsement, and it is the very first one listed on the first page.  Isn’t that fun?  My son is so impressed.

Guess what else?  We got a cat.  Coie brought it home.  Isn’t it cute?

We named it Artemis.  We generally give our cats Greek names.  This cat lasted a total of ONE night.  We woke up and it was long gone.  We just cannot keep cats around here for some reason.  We should have named this place Cursed Cat Hill.  I hope it comes back but I’m not counting on it.  I think this is the sixth kitty we’ve tried to adopt.

Guess what else?  My friend, Spunky is back in blogland.  She took a two year blogging hiatus.  I think that’s the first time I’ve ever used the word hiatus.  That’s fun to say.  Sounds like an island in the Bahamas

Lastly, here is me and Mookers, but for some reason I can’t just post the video in here like I did with the YouTube one:   You Are My Sunshine, by Momsie and Mookers

LOL! Mom, that was a SECRET. But I guess that’s ok.

Did I tell you that she taught me how to break dance as well?

Ryann… if you really learned to break dance i’d be the proudest momsie in all of North America. As it is, I’m just happy to know that you do, indeed, have a measure of groove in your genetic make up.

Ok, so you don’t mind if I stay at the Carr’s again, right? ’cause she told me that next time she would show me how to pop. She’s good at that.

You are so famous making it into a book. We knew it couldn’t be long. Glad to here you are resting up and feeling more humane.

I hope the kitty comes back!

I like the video of you two singing but MAN do you look like Dad in it. wow. Anyways, I wish you would have gotten a closer close-up of Geoffrey’s moon boots. You didn’t know he had them? I don’t even know what they *are*. And that bit about being in Mr. Black’s book is pretty neat. Yay for Bo. And tell Ryann to call me. I want to hear about her trip. But tell her she’s not allowed to call and rap about it- at all.

What do you mean you don’t know what moon boots are. You’re from the 80s. You should know that.

Awww… jealous of the moon boots, the novel and that you can sing harmony! I can only do soprano. I neither have the ear nor the talent for that! Oh and y’all look beautiful m’dear!

As to the cats… well, I think I would HAPPY that the feline didn’t return. But I’m more of a dog person. David’s trying to get me to agree to these 2 white german shepherd pup. I like that breed of dog but MAN OH MAN, these particular dogs are a bit on the u-g-l-y you-ain’t-got-no-alibi side.

Hi there! Great singing, *I think*.

Guess what! We met the Black family at the homeschool conference we just went to. They are SO nice! They said my son Charles looks just like Chuck did when he was about the same age. His wife said that to Charles, isn’t that funny? Then Chuck apparently got a kick out of their names both being “Charles” too.
I thought about name dropping in order to get some kind of discount, but didn’t 🙁 But I did rehearse it in my mind a few times. “Hi, I am a REALLY GOOD FRIEND of Jen Ig and would LOVE to have all your books for really cheap for my son.”

Maybe next time? Be sure to tell them you know me, ok? It JUST might work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Speaking of name dropping, we had a great time and met Maggie H. and she is a doll. We also hung out with Lorrie F. and she is a dear one too.
    I love homeschoolers!

11 years ago today, in the first year of my marriage, my hubby and I left to drive across our country and yours to live in Santa Rosa CA for 6 months. We met a man at the clinic that my husband worked at who lived in Excremento… sorry, Sacramento, but who went to church in Grass Valley. He took us shopping one day there to buy us all hats. He just decided we all needed hats. Then we had lunch at a vegan restaurant and ate scrambled tofu and soy french toast. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I got a little watery in the eyes over that one.

Do you know I had to take my filter off just to watch you lovely, harmonizing ladies sing “You are My Sunshine?”. That meant going back and forth between my filter and your blog… like a gazillion times!:) The things we do for love, curiousity and a blessing!

Hope that you are doing well!

    Love you!

Hey Jenn, welcome back to the blog world. I have a deal for you. If your kitty doesn’t come back home or if you just want another kitty, our cat is preg. (I pretty sure) and when she has her kittens you can have as many as you want (besides the one we may keep to make up for smokey dying). Just let me know. I really need to find homes so they don’t go to our kill shelter here.

well, I am totally *over* not getting any cool ig skirts by now, just in case you were (not) wondering, so you can rip up the cheque cause we leave the firehall on saturday.
I wish one of our cats would run away … we need to find a home for her by saturday and have absolutely no takers. my last name should be igarashi. no one cares about campbell dilemmas.
and, for the record, I done been to asheville because we had a cousin there once upon a once. I even shopped at the Bi-Lo and got me a key ring

Oh what a cute kitty – I hope he/she returns.

Thos boots are too funny. My 3 yr old wears her (fake) Ugg boots everywhere. (She even had them on with her bathing suit the other day!)
    Crazy kids! 🙂

    Blessings,

The two of your have lovely voices. I also have to compliment Coie’s signing and driving skills. That is something that I still haven’t managed yet.
