Jeneric Jeneralities ~ by JenIG

I have a theory that consuming sugar free sweeteners like Splenda and Sweet n Low make you dopey.  Every time me and Geoff the Great start consuming diet soda, sugar free pudding, ice cream with Splenda etc, we get really dim witted, like, and it’s hard to concentrate and uh, I always forget, uh, what I

In other news, I’ve decided that I will, indeed, vote in this election – but only on the condition that Mitt Romney is selected as the candidate for VP.  Otherwise, I think I’m gonna sit this one out.

I changed my bedroom around yesterday.  I have ever so much more room.  In fact, you won’t believe this, but I’m putting all of that extra room to good use by working out again.  Yep.  It’s true.  I’m not sure how long that’ll last, but it sure makes me feel less lazy.  I hope I get less squishy.  I suppose you have to exercise for a prolonged period of time to proportionately reduce the level of squish, which means I’m probably going to just end up staying squishy.

I wish I could be like Jess and join a softball team and an ice hockey team.  That sounds so fun.  I love softball.  But I refuse to pitch.  Once, when I was ten, I got hit smack dab in the face with a line drive right into the teeth.  It literally knocked me out.  And I literally saw stars.  Literally.  And my lip swelled up the size of a grapefruit.  Thus, my days of pitching came to an abrupt end.  I belong at first base only.  How’d I get on this subject?  Sweet n Low.

In other news, a most hearty congrats to my friend Christine Masloske who just had a beautiful baby girl.  That’s fun.  I can’t believe my own little baby is going to turn five next week.  He was such a cute little baby.

He’s still sorta cute.

Poor little fella.  Emmiko keeps ‘doing’ his hair.

LOL – he is still SO cute!

I wish I could join a softball team, too. But I stink at softball. Horribly. So bad, in fact, that even my church team didn’t want me to play. I mean..how bad is that?! ;-p

I sure hope MY kids are as adorable as yours. That’d be lucky. MAN is James a cutie. And you look like you have a *major* side burn in that picture… Also, I wish you could be on my softball and hockey teams too. That’d be swell!

So, I’m not alone in the ‘no voting unless….’ thing. I’m just so depressed about it, and just hoping for God to use whatever happens to WAKE PEOPLE UP. (I used all caps for those people on sweet n’ low.)

Your boy’s still cute, but nothing is cuter than a 1 year old smearing cake. That beats all.

As my husband ‘smartly’ stated there are 304,751,915 in this country and this (McCain/O’Bama)is the best we could come up with for president?

We don’t consume artificial sweeteners – I do not trust them ever since when I was pregnant with my first child the doctor told me that there were three things I had to not consume – I think they werw drugs, diet anything, and can’t remember what the third was – surprisingly back then it was not alcohol. Anyhoo – the only thing I had to give up was the diet Pepsi – and from then on had quite a distrust of the stuff.
To your friend who wasn’t good enough for the church team – If she is ever in WV my church will take her! They lose every game. But they have lots of fun, let anyone play, and always have the most fans in the stands cheering.

I watched one of the televised debates. Mitt Romney hesitated and got a pained look on his face when asked if he believed the Scriptures were 100% true. He lost my vote right then.

He is very darling in the bottom picture – hair and all. He was such a funny little baby. He always looked a little forlorn and that is how I think he got his way.

Our FB conversation was the funniest conversation I have had in years. If laughter could heal the world we would have contributed a ton of meds. :+)

    Love you!

    Mrs Ig.
I’d like to encourage you to vote in this election regardless of whether Mitt Romney is selected a running mate or not. Because in the end, the president and VP are just men, and the party that is in power is a lot more influential than the man. It’s Congress and the Supreme Court that have control over letting little, helpless babies get murdered mercilessly. And Congress and the Supreme Court are the people who deem same-sex marriages legal or not.
So, while this country needs a brilliant president (and I’d like to see it have one), I believe that a conservative president is more important. Thus, even though I’m disappointed by the quality of this years candidates, *I* will be voting, but not for the man. For the party.

I concur with Mrs. Kate. PLEASE VOTE MCCAIN.

I think I will probably hold my nose and vote McCain, though he makes my blood pressure rise, because of the potential Supreme Court nominations.

Years ago, I drank tea daily with 1/2 packet of Splenda. I developed painful abdominal cramps. I went to the doctor and had testing done (it lasted for a long time), but then finally figured out myself that it was the Splenda.

I got derailed from exercising by the major road trip and “vacation” that I had to endure recently. I need to get back on the bandwagon. I actually like working out if it is t-tapp (www.t-tapp.com)

King James is gonna be 5 YEARS OLD?! I remember laughing my head off when you’d talk about hidden poop in unexpected places. Ah well, time flies when you’re having fun, right?

And he is still so very stinkin’ cute. Even with the hairdo.

Hi Jen — Thanks for sharing in our joy! Praise the Lord for His lovingkindness! Angela will post picture soon of Baby Hannah Mae wearing the hat that Ryann made (sorry, I never got a “thank you” out…)

    Lots of love,

No no no… he cannot be 5.

CANNOT. My older one wasn’t even 5 yet when we last got together.

Scary. I feel so old now. *sigh*

And I feel ya on the elections… tho I do agree with the earlier commenter about the whole Supreme Court issue. Plus something about Obama just gives me the willies. But it seems most politicians look like Muppets these days anyway. Kinda creepy, that. lol

Have you ever tried… uh… what in the world is that stuff called, the natural sweetener that comes from a plant? Hold on, I have some in my kitchen…
Oh yeah! Stevia. Why do they all start with S? Well, as you can see by an observation so… how do you say, so, observant…? I can attest to the fact that stevia does not inhibit brain activity! I like it a lot. 🙂

Oh and babies do grow up WAY too fast. I guess that’s why I keep having them! hah. #5 is 11 months now and I’m sad the baby stage is on its way out. I’m not so sure that would be enough to bring my husband to having number six though 🙂

Either way, thanks for coming by my blog 🙂

    Hi JenIg!

Just wanted to let you know how much I thoroughly enjoy your blog! I used to read it daily when I blogged over here at Homeschoolblogger, but took a long hiatus from the web. I’m now getting reaquainted with you! Just so you know, I have a goal of someday meeting you and Gina and the rest of the TOSers if I ever get down to TN! Don’t you feel like a celebrity now? :0) P.S. Splenda gave me heart palpitations so bad I had to quit using it once I narrowed it down to that…I read that’s common!

    Have a good one!
    Brandi
