Wow, what a nutty day. I don't know
how it happened but at the very last minute, somehow our loan came
thru. !!!!!! We went and signed papers and picked up our
keys. Our Keys. Me and
Geo are still waiting to wake up… thanks for praying, I appreciate
it. I still cannot believe that we are moving into our dream
house tonight — which is a good since they already turned off the gas
here at Sewer Flats (get it? turned off the gas? that's funny).
So anyhow, I will not be around for a few days because we have to get
internet hooked up at the new House of Igarashi. Wow, I am
actually moving. God is nice to me. I have no idea why, but
He is.
Lastly, thanks for all the great bloggers you introduced me to. Here are the winners:
nsremomelected Eyecorn to win
Rebeca won Rae a calendar (this was a really neat blog from blogspot)
and JulieStew won BrokenMom a calendar
please let your friends know that you
won them a cool calendar that they will love, and then send me their
addy so I can mail it to them. Email me at JenIG@TheHomeschoolMagazine.com
Lastly Lastly, thanks for the feedback that you have been leaving about the Winter issue.
If you leave a comment on my blog about the article I wrote (good bad
or ugly) I will assume that we can publish your comment in the print
magazine (if you leave a comment and *don't* want it published please include that with your comment)

My mom (Letitia) just told me last night about the problems with your loan. So cool to see our prayers answered so plainly!! Congratulations on the new house, and I hope the move goes smoothly.

Congratulations!
I’m so glad that you all are getting your place out in the country. I bet your kids can’t wait to get some chickens and goats and horses and… and… Remember that post of mine – If You Give A Family A Farm? You’ll see what I mean.
And you’ll love every minute of it. And you’ll just keep saying, “Thank you God. We never could have done this without you.” And He will smile too!
Blessings,

That is such wonderfully awesome news!
And even if I saw it a day later, it encouraged me on a day when I’m feeling down and not so trusting. He truly is good! Even if you hadn’t got the house, He would still be good, BUT it is great to praise Him for such a wonderful gift! I hope that you have smooth sailing on the move. I wish I lived a little closer, I’d be glad to help.
Love and shalom,

Hip-hip-hooray!!!
Congrats on your new house Familia de Igarashi! That is so incredibly exciting and wonderful and I completely know what you mean about wondering why God is sooo very good to us when we completely and utterly don’t deserve it! But HOORAY!!!
By the way, dear Jenefer, you’re article was fantastic (as usual!). You have quite the talent of coming up with new terminology too. I think I will be using the term “Gaker” for quite some time. It is only by our humble examples that we can teach our children to be Givers. Quite the task since they see the good, the bad and the ugly in us! While being homeschoolers gives us much more opportunity to actually show them selfless giving, it also gives them many more opportunities to see us be Takers or Gakers in the little everyday things.
Hope to hear from you soon, my friend! That will be after your dear children have unpacked the house, of course!
Love,
Marsha

Congratulations!!
I’m so happy your house troubles are over!!
I grew up a taker as well. I was an only child, so I was quite spoiled. There is nothing like having children just like you to remind you of what a beast you really were as a child. I have a brother that is 19 years younger than me and I see him following in my “spoiled brat” footsteps as well. I’m still a gaker, but try to bet transparent and honest about it with my kids.

Your Article
PTL, I just got done reading your article and what can I say oth than it was GREAT and to the point. The Lord has blessed you with a wonderful talent, a gift. The gift of writing and a gift for seeing things as they are. Thank you for sharing it with us or should I say GIVING it to us.
God Bless,
Amber
PS~ Did you coin GAKER? If so, can I gake it from you? asj;ljfsdjgh
PPS~ I pray that the Lord allows you to settle in your new home VERY SOON! 🙂

I realized something!
After a couple hours of sleep, it dawned on me, I can’t count either! I said in my comment that you had a talent, and then listed 2 things (a=1…DUH!) Well, the Lord has blessed you with many talent, I only listed 2 of them. And Jen, YOUR” NOT A GAKER AT ALL, YOU ARE DEFINATELY A GIVER!!!! Ask ANYONE!
God Bless,
Amber who should be cleaning because, her sister in law/best friend is coming Friday instead of leaving you a zillion comment, but can’t help it bcz I like you SO much!
PS~ That wasn’t too long was it?! skldajlkfjlkajlkgk;

I should be sleeping instead of blogging!
Thanks for the article on Givers, Takers and Gakers. I’d like to think I’m a giver but I’m sure you are correct in saying that the givers don’t know who they are. I am most certainly a gaker. My prayer is that I will allow God to change my heart and have a more giving attitude. I love this verse from 2 Corinthians 12:15 “And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I be loved.”
