Cozies Part Deaux

I think that's how you spell Deaux.  Anyways, I had to share our romantic boat experience:

Here is General Igarashi as we cross Lake Curry

It wasn't as dark as these pictures make it look.  By the way, rowing is sublime exercise.

Here is General Igarashi trying to choke me to death: “Row faster you ship rat!”

I think we should christen this boat The Sleek Silver Bullet.
Isn't she a beaut?

Looks like fun!!! LOL at General “I’m the king of the world” Igarashi!

Love the boat. Gives a whole new meaning to, “This weekend, we’re going to take the boat out on the lake.” :0)

I’m trying *not* to covet. Wish we had acreage, fruit trees, and a lake.

Way cool! Looks like lots of fun. My kids went canoeing (sp?) in a lake/pond in Florida last month but those pics are still on the camera that my dh took with him. They had fun. I wonder how big a pond has to be in order to be a lake?

    What fun!

How romantic, out cruising around on your lake, just the two of you!!

Today my boys found some absolutely HUGE MAMMOTH crawdads in the pool in front of our cave. Maybe I’ll have a digital camera soon and can post cute photos too!

Aw, what a cute couple’a kids you guys are! Nice touch, adding the very handsome Geoff the Great to your avatar. He’s one brave guy, standing up in a rowboat in February! Enjoy your lake this winter because mosquito season is coming! My recommendation: stock it with fancy goldfish — they live forever and eat mosquito larva.

I used to live in TN so – – –

I s’pose you know about them ear-crawlin’ bugs that live in them thar little lakes, right? Wouldn’t want the kiddoes to end up with ear-crawlin’ bugs this summer . . . and the snakes, you know about them poisonous pond snakes, doncha’? And the giant mutant snappin’ turtles, . . of course the nice old couple told you how to protect your youngin’s against them big ole bitin’ turtles I’m sure. Be careful. And

Try to stay IN the boat . . . .

Maggie* who is actually on yet another diet “Maggie’s Official Oatmeal Diet” and would join your contest if:

    1. She didn’t have to post her actual real, unbeliveably awful weight and

    2. If there was a worthwhile prize . . . like maybe Godivas . . . .

All kidding aside…how absolutely romantic and fun!! I’ll take any body of water I can stare at …we have one of those plastic molded fish ponds from HOme Depot…right now I get to gaze starry eyed at a grocery bag frozen in the semi-ice…but it’s a body of water and it’s what’s allowed in this stinkin’ restrictive neighborhood…I want a Curry Farm, too!!!! I’m glad you all are enjoying your beautiful new homestead. My, just think how much fun you’ll have when the warm weather officially sets in.

I have two gooseberry bushes, if they make it. I planted them 2 years ago now, and they’ve had a rough time of it due to the sawfly larvae. I mean, my bushes were only about 1.5 feet tall, and these pesky pests ate all the leaves in about 2 days. I had a tough time researching it, but by golly, I found a picture (on the www of course) of what was possibly doing it, and when I looked very, very hard at my bush, I found it! Argghh! We’ll see if it comes back in the spring.

My great-grandfather had a gooseberry bush that was twice my height when I was a kid. That was where I was raised — in my great-grandfather’s home. It’s still in the family. Anyhow, he had planted an apple orchard, cherry trees, a grape vine, and a gooseberry bush. I’d just stand out there eating off these trees and bushes. The grapes were sour though, so we’d just suck the skins off and spit the green seedy eyeball looking things at each other.

    Here’s to gooseberry bushes.

If it’s any comfort, I couldn’t get that silly song out of my head either…course that was after you told me you couldn’t get it outta your head, so then I started getting it in my head. Then, I started singing the first verse out loud. DS asked me why I was singing some goofy 70s song, and DH threatened to take away my “24” DVDs if I didn’t at least move onto the rest of the song….that’s when I moved onto “Here’s a story, of a man named Brady…..”

BTW, your new avatar is wonderful 🙂

I just love your new avatar! It just gushes with the “Geoff-iness” you’re full of! Guess it’s not hard to gush when he’s squeezin’ the pudding out of ya. (Better keep clinging to him, too, considering your boating vessel of choice may not last more than two honeymoon laps around the lake 🙂

I hope you didn’t pay a lot for your yacht!

dh says as soon as he starts having weekends off, we can scout around your spot in TN. So he’s considering it now too. Think you can find us a lake too? lol

    Love The pics…..

We too have a large pond or lake, out in our front yard. It is our front yard, the rest of our land is beside and behind our house. We have got to get a boat as nice as yours. lol!!

In response to your comment on my blog, we live about 25 miles north of Memphis. We come up your way at about twice a year. We love the Smky Mts. and my sister and her family lives outside of Knoxville, in Rutledge. It takes us about 6 hours to get your way. I will hollar at you when we come that way again.

    Much love and blessings,

    Pat in Tenn

    Nice rig

Perhaps you can take your TOS work out on the water and claim it as work space on your taxes?

Of course, if you fell overboard you may be able to file Workman’s comp and piddle around with your gooseberry bush all day on your sister’s tab.

But then again, no. OSHA would not likely approve the boat as suitable for working conditions, so the DMV might come and re-possess it.

On the other hand, perhaps you should keep using it as the Love Boat.

    I am sorry

It has come to my attention that I should not have “hijacked” your blog. I did not mean to be rude. In fact, I thought I was being funny. I still can’t log in as myself and I cannot post so I guess this will (sadly) be the end of my blogger days. I deleted my rudely long comment and ask for your forgiveness for my presumption.

If I offended anyone else, please know that I was just kidding around and really did not mean to intrude on JenIg’s wonderful blog.

I have had a lot of fun on HSB… maybe someday I will start all over again, but losing the ability to retrieve all of the hard work I have already done is overwhelmingly discouraging right now.
