Jeneric Jeneralities ~ by JenIG

Our Blubber Blogger club has grown (despite our goals of shrinking says EnergyFree) heh heh, that's cute.

Now look here, before we go one step further I want you to know that I am not a liar.  There
is a simple explanation for what I’m about to tell you. See, when we
first weighed in, it was nighttime and we’d been eating all day, right?
So this morning, before we ate (or inhaled any air), me and Coie jumped
on the scale (not at the same time).  Again, I am not lying, we both weighed EXACTLY 143.2.  We wondered if the electronic scale was on the blitz so we had Ryann jump on (she was 117).  Coie is just a big copy-cat.  I think in reality I prob lost 3 pounds and that Coie lost one pound.

Below are our distinguished Blubber Bloggers members. I’m posting the starting weights that you gave me.  So you peoples go ahead and sign in and Record Your Latest Scientific Findings (doesn’t that sound more homeschoolish?)  Record it like this:

Jen: 143 (-5lbs)

Coie: 143 (-3lbs)

Geoff: 207 (-   ) Special Alert: Geo is refusing to step on the scale again until March 16

Also, it is not too late to join our Blubber Blogger Club.  “Post Your Scientific Findings Days” are Sat morn, Sun morn and Monday mornings.  To join, just post your current blubber content.  If
I missed any former members, please repost below, and as an “I’m sorry
for forgetting you” I will send you a cute little puppy. Maria and DandelionSeeds and all you other preggies, you should post your gaining numbers. I'd like to see that. Besides, it would make us all feel better.

Rebeca: 127 / DandelionSeeds:‘claims’ 131 / eyecrom: (secret chicken non-weight-poster) / RonandJess 148 /  GrayHairedMom 152 / Momwtrmn180 /
MrsNehemiah 30 pounds more than her goal weight of 135 / quietcajun 155/ Dalyn134/ mycrazylife 149/  Boltbabe 221/  chaimommy120/  Amber 148/ HeartForHome148/ and Chickadee is sposed to be in but she never done posted no dang weight

I just know I'm forgetting some people here.  You'll have to repost if I missed you…

    my weight

yes, i was feeling a little guilt about that. i did not post my weight because i don't need to lose weight one ten i need to lose inches from my waist. i have the blubber, jelly roll thing that settles into a comfy pillow for my kids whenever i sit down. that part of me is 32 inches. does that count? i also slipped my weight in here so no one would see it unless they read carefully.

    Still a Blubber!

Ok, I too had been eating all day after my first weigh in. And this time, I stripped down to everything but the nail polish, (I’m sure that was more than you needed to know!) Fortunately, I have not eaten breakfast or lunch yet, so I’m good.

I’m 144.5. You bet the .5 counts! I’m still reallly hungry.

    Good grief

You people are all so skinny that it’s sickening! There ain’t NO WAY I am posting my weight on here. I am a big, fat lard right now. Hopefully that will change over the next 6 months. I only WISH I weighed in the 140’s. Sheesh. Enjoy it people and relax some. Eat some chocolate. ROFL.

Okay… so I’m with Geo, since I don’t even own a scale… (I just figure I get pregnant enough that I weigh myself at the doctor’s office… you know, for as much as I’ve spent there, they should GIVE me one!)… anyway, my next appt. is the 13th of March, so you’ll just have to wait and see what my new fabulous blubber weight is! I know, I know… the suspense is killing you!

    Love ya,

    Weight

I gained 2 pounds even though my elliptical bike says I burned about 1800 calories and I logged nearly 2 hours of excercise this week. I did eat a bit more than usual, but… oh well.

You forgot me… sniff, sniff…. and to think this was going to give me more blog traffic… sigh…. I bought a scale and it said I was 5 lbs lighter than I was a few days before – I’m not believing it. I bought the cheapest one. I think I might return it for a more accurate one. I will post my weight on Monday.

    you need to get vaccinated…

I’d a done a trackback thingy on this, but I can’t…my template won’t let me and I’m done fiddling with it. So I’ll just post here and leave my embarrassing moment stand at the top of my blog for awhile longer…And don’t cough on me…I don’t want it!

    (from: http://www.healthyeatingclub.com/info/articles/body-shape/fat-virus.htm)

    The Fat Virus

New evidence has emerged that suggests that obesity may not be entirely the result of unfavourable eating habits and low physical activity levels. A recent study by a group at the University of Wisconsin, published in the International Journal of Obesity has reported that a virus may be a contributing factor to obesity.

The researchers inoculated chickens and mice with the virus, known as AD-36, resulting in excessive fat gain. Adiposity in the affected animals increased (in particular visceral fat, total fat and body weight), however serum cholesterol and triglyceride levels decreased. There was no evidence of damage to those parts of the brain that control energy balance in affected chickens; however more studies in mammals where much more is known about control of energy balance would be helpful.

Obese people may have antibodies to the virus as demonstrated in a sample of obese and lean people from New York. Antibodies were found in 20-60% of obese people compared to only 5% of lean people, and were also demonstrated in the chickens and mice used in this study.

The virus seems to work by affecting part of the brain that controls energy expenditure, however this has not yet been established. The jury is still out as to whether this virus may be a contributing factor to obesity as further studies are needed to ascertain it’s role in mammals, in particular humans, and the means by which it is contracted and operates in the body.

Therefore, eating a nutritious and healthy diet, combined with regular physical activity remains the best way to avoid obesity or to maintain or reduce weight.

I weighed myself on Thursday when my daughter bought a scale. We hate scales mind you. We know we lose weight when our clothes get baggy. I weighed 175 then. Better than I thought I would be. I am almost five foot nine or at least I used to be. Those commercials on tv keep saying at my age after the big M you start shrinking. Today I weighed in at 174. We have gone together to Curves twice this week. I feel so good after exercising. Honest. But my daughter insists the scale is wrong and is going to return it for a better one. Does it count that the little ol line was not lined up to the 0 at the beginning? Oh well, blessings anyway!

There is NO WAY I’m getting on a scale today. It’s my birthday and I just know it went up after the breakfast I just had (a scary carb/sugar/fat fest in honor of me). I am going to be a model of discipline come tomorrow. For real. Let’s go with my original weigh-in of 148. That’s my story and I’m stickin to it.

OK, so you and Coie jumped on the scale TOGETHER, right? ‘Cause I’ve seen you both, and there is absolutely no way you weigh that. And I’ve also seen Geoff, and I think you need to take that scale back. It is obviously malfunctioning.

    Weighing in

Ok, I’m officially depressed. I joined the Blubber Bloggers right at the start of PMS. So after all of my best efforts of exercising and eating waaaay less, I’ve gained 2 pounds. I now weigh 122. (Humph) And of course, my new jeans aren’t so comfy now.

    Darn water retention anyway…sigh…

I truly think there should be a separate club

for those who are truly “Blubbery,” and not just “Blubber Wannabe’s.” If anyone under 140-145ish thinks they are overweight and blubbery, it truly makes me turn green with envy, and also green with nausea. I am glad that so many are trying to prevent getting to where BoltBabe and I admit that we are at today, but we need a club that only admits true Blubber Babes, who are not willing to post those horrible numbers we see on the scale, and want to just tell how much we have lost, or percentage lost.

Nope, no way am I posting my weight on the www. It is not ready for google to process those numbers in a search engine. It would break with the amount of blubber numbers it had to process.

I would like to challenge anyone who is more than 15% overweight to band together and take on these Blubber Club wannabees. We can support each other without having to see numbers like “I weigh 125,” floating around when we are no where in that ballpark—or should I say weigh out of the ballpark (did you notice that little bit of levity??? LOL). Just think how bad we can WHOP these skinny minnies, both in pounds and percentages of weight loss!

Truly, all kidding aside, I would LOVE to have some of you who are falling into the truly obese category join me in trying to lose pounds, and exercise to get more fit. I need drastic support and encouragement, and even at home am surrounded by people who wear a size 11 or 13 crying about losing weight. I know they are overweight for them, and I’m glad they are trying to drop some weight before it gets away from them, but it makes me feel all the more how terribly overweight I am. Anyone want to partner up with me???

I’m totally just messing around with trackbacks. Don’t mind the trackback at the end, it actually has nothing to do with this article, really. It has nothing to do with weight loss. But I did it! I can do a trackback now!

Down 1 pound, however, this may be due to the fact that at this a.m.’s weigh in I was NOT holding a box of Krispy Kreme doughnuts. Starting today, I am taking an aggressive approach.

Ode to Jen… (who was supposed to call me last night and didn’t… I waited by the phone like a 16 year old… infact, it brought back memories that I’d repressed, and I didn’t appreciate the flashback. I’m writing this just before I leave to see my counselor…)

I waited for you last night

    But you didn’t call

    No no no

    I needed You last night

    So where did You go?

    You told me you’d call

    Said I’d be here

And though I haven’t seen You

    Are You still there?

    Chorus:

I cried out with no reply

And I can’t see why you’d deny me

So I’ll hold tight to what I know

You’re there, and I’ll wait by the phone

    Sadly yours…

    I'll do it too.

If it is not too late I’ll join in. About a year and a half ago I lost 37 pounds on the Weight watchers diet. I didn’t do the meetings but just followed the point system. I reached my goal and felt great. Well things are slipping and I am up almost 10 pounds. I have been determined stop going up and to get back down. So here we go. I am at 133 as of last week when I weighed myself at my moms. I don’t have a scale. I am commiting to walking everyday. So I will also post how many days I walk each week along with my current weight. I also commit to drinking my water each day so I’ll also post how many days I actually reached my water goal.

There I said it and it is now public. Hold me to it girls!!
